1976 Ford Escort Mexico II 

We have for sale an immaculate Ford Escort Mexico II, in Diamond White, which has been subject to a recommissioning, with some period upgrades.

The car had a mechanical recommission in 2016, costing in excess of £1000, with documentation to support this. Also, the Mexico has had an upgraded Ford RS2000 2.0 engine installed in the past. This is from the same ‘Pinto’ family as the original 1600, resulting in it being visually identical to the standard engine. This helps to maintain the original appearance, but with a modest performance increase over the standard car.

In 2014 the interior was recommissioned, with the Scheel front seats and rear seat retrimmed in black beta cloth. Receipts for the work show this cost nearly £1000. Furthermore, the vendor recently replaced the dashboard, with the interior now in stunning condition. Small touches like the period Ford Rallye Sport Centre dealer window stickers, highlight the attention to detail the previous owners have gone to ensure the car is as visually original as possible.

The exterior of the car is in stunning condition, with excellent Diamond White paint, black pinstripe Mexico decals and RS alloy wheels. A pair of Cibie spotlights have been added, which were a popular period addition.

The previous owners have recommissioned the vehicle as sympathetically as possible, with the car looking like a factory-fresh example, with a couple of period upgrades. The overall excellent condition of the vehicle would indicate at some point in its history the car has received a full restoration, however we do not have any details of this.
